Jil Evans Studio
Exhibition & Presentation Design
While studio assisting at Jil Evans Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I was given several opportunities to contribute to the studio’s design and presentation needs. One of my primary projects was creating an exhibition proposal in Adobe InDesign, intended for submission to art galleries across the United States.
This project centered on layout design and typography—both areas of particular interest to me. A key challenge was selecting typography that complemented the paintings without distracting from them, remained highly readable, and aligned with the visual language already established on Jil’s website. After careful consideration, I selected Caviar Dreams for its clean structure and subtle elegance, allowing the artwork to remain the focal point.
In addition, I designed a presentation for a talk Jil delivered at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). This project required organizing and showcasing her work in a visually engaging and cohesive format, balancing clarity with aesthetic impact.
Both projects were deeply rewarding, and it was especially gratifying to see the designs successfully support Jil’s professional goals and receive her positive feedback.
